Please read the Terms of Service carefully before completing your booking. These conditions set out your legal rights and responsibilities, our legal rights and responsibilities and key information that would be helpful to consider before booking with our hotel.
Definitions and Specifications:
Time Zone: The time zone applicable to this agreement is: GMT+0 (Greenwich Mean Time +0)
1. Our Rates and Pricing:
Our ‘Best Rate’ is our most affordable, non refundable rate. By opting for our best rate our Guests are committing to our pre-paid, non-refundable rate. To secure a room with this rate, all Guests must agree to the pre-payment of their chosen room/s. Reservations made using this rate are subject to a fixed booking and do not allow for any amendments or changes after booking. As a small, family run business, we cannot hold any ‘Best Rate’ bookings that remain without payment, beyond the 24 hour grace period that is awarded to each Guest. By which we expect Guests to please contact the Guest House with any inquiries or for any assistance with their payment.
Alternatively, Guests can choose our ‘28 Day Flexible Rate’. This enables Guests to amend or cancel their booking, free of charge, until 23:59 GMT, 29 days prior to the agreed arrival date. Payment details will still be required to confirm ‘28 Day Flexible Rate’ bookings. Please contact the Guest House if you need help with any changes in your flexible booking.
Our rates always include our full bespoke breakfast and include all regionally applicable taxes. Please contact reception if you have any further questions.
2. Payment methods:
To confirm your booking, for all other additional service charges and payments for items at our shop, we only accept Credit or Debit card payments. Cash transactions are not supported at our venue.
3. Third party bookings:
The Alamo Guest House and Lansdowne Project One Ltd work with certain select third party booking sites such as Booking.com and Expedia. For any cancellations, refunds or amendments to Bookings made via third parties, please contact the third party directly, as any amendments, cancellations or refunds will solely be provided by them. If you require further confirmation of your details after making a booking with a third party site, please contact our reception team directly.
4. Checking-in:
Our check-in period begins at 14:00 (2PM) and ends at 19:00 (7PM), all early check-in requests before this period are subject to room availability. Guests are welcome to leave their labelled belongings in the guest house until their room is ready. Our reception is available through email from 7:15 (AM) until 18:30 (6:30PM), and via telephone from 10:30 (AM) until 18:30 (6:30PM) to discuss check-in arrangements.
5. Late Check-ins:
Guests are required to inform Guest House staff 72 hours prior to their arrival date about any check-ins after the selected window.
6. Last minute changes to your Estimated Time of Arrival (last minute Late Check-ins):
We understand that on occasion, travelling may not go as planned. If there are any last minute changes to your Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA), please inform Guest House staff before 18:30 (6:30PM). A Last Minute Late Check-in may only be granted with prior communication with reception staff. Please call 0141 339 2395 anytime before 18:30 (6:30PM) informing us of your later arrival.
7. Last minute bookings:
We ask that all Guests making last minute bookings complete their booking before 18:30 (6:30PM), as we cannot guarantee that a staff member will be present on site to let you into the premises past the allocated window of 10:30 (AM) to 19:00 (7PM).
8. Our Breakfast:
Our breakfast is served between the hours of 7.30 (AM) and 10:00 (AM), as we operate with a smaller team, we kindly ask guests to confirm their breakfast time slot upon their Arrival at the Alamo. Our team will leave a bespoke takeaway breakfast for any Guest requiring an earlier departure.
We kindly ask all guests to show at their chosen time, in order for operations to run smoothly. Guests opting for breakfast at 10:00 (AM) will be given a five minute grace period before our team is required to continue with housekeeping operations, and as such we will not be able to take any breakfast orders past 10:05 (AM).
Every Guest staying at the Alamo Guest House is entitled to our full bespoke breakfast selection. Although we try to have a range of alternatives for each dietary requirement, Guests are asked to make sure they inform our front of house members of staff if they require any dietary accommodations (see Point 14 for more information on allergies).
9. Additional Breakfasts:
Guests are advised that Breakfast availability is limited to two people per room, all additional breakfasts will be an additional £18.50 per person, per room, chargeable in full to the guests’ booking in advance.
10. Checking-out:
Guests are kindly asked to vacate their rooms at 11:00 (AM) however upon previous agreement with Guest House staff, a check-out as late as 1pm may be granted. This is subject to availability, please inquire with a member of staff if you require a late check-out.
11. Travelling with Kids:
Any Guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, it is recommended that children under 14 stay within the same room or accommodation as their legal guardian or designated accompanying adult as per proper safeguarding practices. ‘The Alamo Guest House’ is not liable for any injuries or damage that are due to a child or young person remaining unsupervised, or that are reasonably foreseeable. Guests will be required to provide payment for any material damages caused.
If you are travelling with younger children or infants, the Guest House can provide your room with a travel cot upon previous request, and additional pull out beds are also available for an additional fee. Please contact the reception team if you require any further accommodations when travelling with children.
12. Our Minibar and Alcohol Policy (Challenge 25):
In accordance with the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, all alcohol sold on the premises will first require the customer to provide a valid form of officially issued ID, if the Guest appears to be under the age of 25.
Accepted documents: Passport, Drivers License, Officially issued National Identity Document. Scotland: Young Scot cards will not be accepted as valid forms of ID, despite including a PASS
Upon failure to provide a valid form of identification, the sale of alcohol shall not be permitted. Where a Guest has purchased an additional service containing alcohol before their arrival at ‘The Alamo Guest House’, if a person staying within their accommodations is unable to abide by the principles of challenge 25, all items containing alcohol shall be immediately removed and a refund corresponding to the purchase of the additional service shall be issued.
13. Consumption of Alcohol purchased outside the Alamo Guest House
Guests are expected to keep the consumption of alcohol within reason. Guests may be asked to leave the Guest House when not complying with housekeeping rules, disrupting other Guests, exhibiting inappropriate or destructive behaviour to Guest House staff or other Guests due to their consumption of alcohol or causing damage to the premises of the Guest House.
An underage person drinking within the Guest House, (if Guests decide to bring their own bottle) will be acting against the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005, and against housekeeping rules.
Guests are kindly reminded to abide by Drink Driving limits in Scotland. A single drink may put you over the limit. We advise Guests to not drink and drive.
14. Accessibility and special needs:
We take special care in meeting our Guests’ required accessibility needs, however, due to the nature of the building, ‘The Alamo Guest House’ is unable to be fitted with a lift or a ramp which would alter its structure. We request that Guests with special accessibility needs inquire with our front of house staff before making their booking in order to make sure that we can meet all of their accessibility requirements as best as we can. A booking made before confirming that our premises are accessible to particular Guests, might not be refundable.
Guests requiring an assistant will be required to provide their own aid as due to limited dispositions, the Alamo Guest House is unable to provide individual Guests with medically required personal disability support. If you require more information on travelling with disability support to our Guest House, please contact our reception team.
15. Allergies:
Breakfast prepared with non-gluten-containing ingredients is available for our Guests; however, our kitchen also handles wheat and gluten regularly as we make our scones in-house. Despite taking great care to minimize cross-contamination, our kitchen may not be suitable for certain individuals with celiac disease or a severe gluten intolerance.
All Guests that suffer from allergies are required to inform Guest House staff before their arrival. At The Alamo Guest House, we endeavour to reduce cross-contamination, however, as we run a smaller kitchen, we kindly ask Guests with dietary concerns to seek guidance from their physician.
16. Parking:
Parking within the area of the Guest House, is paid parking on weekdays from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 (AM) to 18:00 (6PM), The Alamo Guest House has limited quantities of available parking permits that Guests may request during their booking process. Due to limited availability parking permits may not be available upon arrival. Please inquire with our reception before your arrival.
Our rates for our parking permits are as follows:
£40 for a full day : :8:00 (AM) until 18:00 (6PM)
£25 for a half day: 8:00 (AM) until 13:00 (1PM) and from 13:00/1PM until 18:00 (6PM)
£4.50 per individual hour
17. Personal Belongings
Guests are advised that any personal belongings left behind will be held for a maximum period of two weeks or 14 days, due to our limited storage capability. If lost property isn’t claimed by the end of that period, items may be donated. Please contact the Guest House if you require assistance with lost property.
18. Limitation of Liability
We will be responsible for any foreseeable loss or damage that you may suffer as a result of our breach of these Conditions or as a result of our negligence. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or negligence or if it is contemplated by you and us when our contract with you is created. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
Nothing in these Conditions will exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (including that of our employees, agents or sub-contractors) or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
19. No Smoking Policy:
Smoking is strictly prohibited within the Guest House, outside of the designated smoking area located at the entrance. Guests smoking indoors will be asked to leave the premises, as they will be infringing on housekeeping rules, terminating their contract. If deemed necessary by Guest House staff, Guests may be required to provide payment for a professional cleaning service.
20. Illicit substances:
The Alamo Guest House has a zero tolerance policy for the consumption of illicit substances, in accordance with the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, Guests having consumed Class A or B drugs will be asked to leave the premises, and a report to authorities will be issued.
21. Theft and damages to property:
Any damage or theft committed by the Guest during their stay at the Guest House will be paid in full by the Guest to cover costs of repair and replacement.
22. Force Majeure:
We shall not be in breach of these Conditions nor shall we be liable for any delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of our obligations under these Conditions if such failure or delay results from events, circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control. Such causes include, but are not limited to power failure, internet service provider failure, fire, flood, storms, earthquakes, acts of terror or any other event that is beyond our control.
23. Waiver
There shall be no Waiver of Guest’s obligations under these conditions. If we do not insist that you perform your obligations under these Conditions, or if we do not enforce our rights against you or delay in doing so, that will not mean that you do not have to comply with those obligations. If we waive any rights we will only do so in writing and that will not mean that will not mean that we will waive any right related to any later default by the Guest.
24. Severance
Each clause of these Conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining clauses will remain in full force and effect.
